drawing the line

I am Maki Szabo, from Québec City, Canada. I graduated from Columbia University in 2020, and have called New York City home ever since.

Growing up, I loved to make origami animals. When I moved into my first apartment, I wanted to make an origami art piece to fill my walls for cheap. I absolutely adored it, and so I have kept on going, and expanded to other mediums beyond paper.

I would describe my style as “Putting the art in Cartesian.” Being an engineer and a math nerd, I am obsessed with geometry and symmetry. I strive to create aesthetically pleasing art, with dimension, texture and a diversity of angles providing a different experience.

I am most proud when I make art pieces out of collections, such that they can be creatively highlighted and part of your living decor.
